Scoliosis is a 3 Dimensional condition, so effective treatments need to be 3 dimensional too. braceScan combines 3D full-body laser scanning technology, x-rays, and posture photographs. Each brace is custom-designed for the individual with Computer Aided design (CAD) and then created with Computer Aided Manufacture (CAM).

The key to our success lies in the innovation of our “super corrective” bracing design. Gone are the days of primitive measurement methods involving tape measures or plaster casting. We have embraced the cutting-edge CAD/CAM technology and introduced BraceScan, a state-of-the-art 3D imaging software, to create custom-made braces. With this approach, we start with laser scans of the patient, which are seamlessly imported into our design software. Through this process, a “virtual cast” is meticulously modified, ensuring that the brace is tailored precisely to the patient’s unique measurements, curve pattern, degree of stiffness, and more.

What is ScoliBrace?

ScoliBrace is a custom 3D scoliosis brace for children, teens, and adults. It is designed from a 3D body scan, X-rays, and posture photos using computer design software. Unlike traditional braces that only hold the curve, ScoliBrace gently guides the spine toward an over-corrected position to help reduce the curve.

How long does a ScoliBrace fitting take?

The BraceScan imaging appointment usually takes under an hour. Once your custom brace is made, you come back for a fitting appointment. At that visit, we make adjustments, check the fit, and walk you through your wear schedule. Follow-up visits track your progress and fine-tune the brace over time.

Is ScoliBrace only for kids?

No. Bracing is most corrective while a child is still growing, but adults use ScoliBrace too. For adults, the brace can help with pain relief, better posture, and keeping the curve stable. It is often part of a larger non-surgical scoliosis treatment plan built for each patient.

How many hours a day is ScoliBrace worn?

Every wear schedule is different. It depends on the patient’s age, how large the curve is, and the goals of treatment. Some patients wear the brace only at night, while others follow a fuller daily schedule. Your schedule is reviewed and adjusted at each follow-up visit.
